11/07/2010 - W.S.F.D. Responds to Structure fire. WSFD was activated for a structure fire at approx. 9:00 pm on Nov. 7th 2010. Upon arrival, the first chief confirmed that the house was fully involved with extension to the garage and two cars in the driveway. Assistance was provided from the Bayport, Bohemia, East Islip and Sayville fire departments and Sayville Community Ambulance. See pictures here |

10/27/2010 - A story about EX-Chief Nicolas Paglia From the moment he lowered his right hand after taking the oath of office as Chief Engineer of the West Sayville Fire Department on April 7, 1966, then 36-year old Nicholas E. Paglia, Sr. assumed his self-proclaimed boasting rights, in much more colloquial terms than this, as being the first individual of Italian decent to serve as fire chief in his hometown. Read More |
10/22/2010 - Structure fire at Dowling College Dormatory. Upon arrival of the Chief it was confirmed that there was a fire in the laundry room which was contained to one of the dryers. The fire was quickly extinguised. Assistance was provided from the Bayport, Bohemia, East Islip and Sayville fire departments and Sayville Community Ambulance. |
